The University of Vermont has launched an online certificate in sustainable campus innovation geared toward school administrators.
The certificate program is targeted at school officials working in campus operations and student leadership. The fully online program is a 24-weeks long and includes three. Registration has begun for the program, which begins in March and will be offered monthly.
The program will focus on teaching participants six key elements: instituting sustainable practices on campus in areas such as energy, waste, water, and transportation; increasing enrollment of eco-friendly students; decreasing operational deficiencies; earning a reputation of environmental responsibility; maintaining awareness of and implementing environmental trends; and integrating sustainability into student curriculum, according to a Jan. 24 news release.
The public university, ranked #82 in national universities by U.S. News and World Report, also just opened registration for its certificate in sustainable innovation, similar to the campus-focused one, but created for corporate professionals interested in helping their businesses become more sustainable.
