The Community College Crisis

Community colleges across the nation are in a state of crisis, with plummeting graduation rates and declining student retention. From President Obama to state governors, there is general agreement that community colleges can provide valuable and cost-effective services to students who wish to either gain more job skills to be competitive on the job market or transition to four-year college programs. Internet and interactive technologies can be used to assess student academic levels, develop student skills and knowledge, and partner with business and industry to provide job training and experience.
