Beginning in January, students can enroll in an online Master of Science in Nursing with an emphasis in nursing education through Eastern New Mexico University.
The school announced July 3 that it began formulating the online degree program after being involved with the New Mexico Nursing Education Consortium, which strives to increase the number of nurses who hold Bachelor of Science in Nursing degrees in New Mexico. The program’s intent is to help increase the number of BSN nurses by increasing the number of qualified nursing instructors.
The program will accept 15 students for spring enrollment, and will offer two classes per semester in the spring, summer, and fall. The master’s degree program requires 36 credit hours for completion. No further information on the program and its curriculum is available on the school website as of July 10.
Eastern New Mexico University is regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
