The University of St. Thomas in Minnesota has partnered with Bisk Education‘s University Alliance division to develop an online Master of Arts in public safety and law enforcement leadership. The new degree will launch in March 2013 and will be offered by the university’s College of Education, Leadership, and Counseling.
The curriculum for the 31-credit hour course covers subjects such as state and local policy making, advanced police theory and practice, and police law. The master’s in public safety and law enforcement leadership is the first degree from the university, but administrators plan to following it with other offerings.
Over the next year the university will offer additional degree programs from its Opus College of Business, as well as its schools of social work and engineering. All of the online programs will have the same curriculum and requirements as their residential counterparts and utilize Bisk’s video-based, e-learning platform.
