
Siva Vaidhyanathan is a cultural historian and media scholar who currently serves as a professor of media studies and law at the University of Virginia. He’s been a leading figure in studying the conflict between the push for increased access to information and the retention of copyright. In 2006 he coined the term critical information studies to describe his multidisciplinary approach, which draws on subjects ranging from cultural studies to computer science, to scholarship.
