The fact that universities across the U.S. are embracing Massive Open Online Courses at different speeds can leave some professors feeling like they are being left-out in the cold, which is why two George Mason University economists decided to create their own MOOC.
Tyler Cowen and Alex Tabarrok, who write the popular economics blog Marginal Revolution, have decided to introduce a platform they describe as “a flexible learning module,” the Chronicle of Higher Education reported.
Cowen and Tabarrok are calling their effort MRUniversity and have written that the courses will feature quizzes, tests, and videos that are approximately five minutes long. The first course, which will launch in Oct., will be development economics.
