Bethany Nowviskieis the director of digital research and scholarship at the University of Virginia Library, the associate director of the Scholarly Communication Institute and the president of the Association for Computers and the Humanities. She is also a steering committee member for centerNet, an international network of digital humanities centers, and MediaCommons. She also represents the library on the UVa General Faculty Council. Her scholarship focuses on the intersection of the algorithmic/procedural method and the traditional humanities interpretation. She recently directed two projects funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Library of Congress.
