Matt Waite is a professor of practice at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s college of journalism and mass communications. Before joining the university he was the senior news technologist for the St. Petersburg Times where he functioned as the principal developer for the Pulitzer Prize-winning PolitiFact. Prior to working as a journalist/programmer Waite was an award-winning investigative reporter who co-authored a series of stories about Florida’s vanishing wetlands that were later expanded into the book “Paving Paradise: Florida’s Vanishing Wetlands and the Failure of No Net Loss.”
