Scott McLeod is an associate professor of education at the University of Kentucky where he serves as the founding director of Center for the Advanced Study of Technology Leadership in Education, which partners with regional educational organizations and schools to implement technologies to improve teaching and student learning. McLeod has been working to improve the technological literacy amongst school administrators. McLeod founded CASTLE in 2002 when he was at the University of Minnesota, originally the center was named the School of Technology Leadership Initiative. In 2005 the University Council for Educational Administration recognized McLeord’s project as a center and approved renaming CASTLE. In 2007 McLeod and CASTLE moved to Iowa State University and collaborations with the University of Kentucky began in 2009. He has developed a reputation as the type of person able to work with K-12 schools and transform them into state-of-the-art learning environments.
