Hudson Valley CC to Offer Online Entrepreneurship Associate Degree

Hudson Valley Community College, based in Troy, N.Y., is now offering an online associate degree in entrepreneurship, to begin in the spring.

The Associate in Applied Science in Entrepreneurship degree program requires 64 credit-hours of coursework. It is designed for students who would like to launch their own small business, or for existing small business owners who would like to grow their business.

Students will take courses in a variety of business fields, including personal finance, business communications, statistics, economics, sales management, and marketing. Entrepreneurship coursework includes classes in entrepreneurial process, legal issues in entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial finance, and entrepreneurial strategy. Before graduating, students are expected to produce a business plan ready for financing and implementation.

Students are also expected to complete an entrepreneurial internship in their community in their last semester. If attending full-time, students can complete the sequence in two years.

Hudson Valley offers a variety of online associate degrees and certificates in business and other fields. Business offerings include associate degrees in accounting, marketing, and business administration. Students can also earn online associate degrees in criminal justice, liberal arts, and public administration.

Hudson Valley Community College is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
