The University of Florida, is launching five new online business essentials certification programs beginning in January. Open enrollment began Oct. 15.
University of Florida Executive Education, an extended learning arm of the university, is offering four three-course certificates that begin with business basics, covering topics including economics, accounting, project management, contracts, and ethics. These certificates are Students can earn certifications in business essentials and leadership; business essentials and human resource management; business essentials and information technology management; or business essentials and marketing management.
The fifth certificate, in tactical leadership and management, is available is for those with prior business knowledge. It requires coursework in leadership, creating mutual accountability, and competing through innovation. Students can specialize in human resources, information technology, or marketing management.
Each executive education course will be taught by the university’s on-campus faculty members, and is formatted to include streaming and downloadable videos, virtual whiteboards in lectures, and chat rooms for online discussions. Courses can also be taken individually rather than as part of a certificate program.
The four basic certificate programs cost $4,995—less than taking each course individually. The tactical leadership and management program costs $5,695.
