
Shane Landrum is a Ph.D. candidate in American history at Brandeis University primarily working on legal history, women’s/gender/sexuality history, and the histories of public health and technology. Landrum’s six years of professional experience as a software engineer has given him a significant interest in the history of information technology and digital historical methods. He is currently working on a history of compulsory birth registration and birth certificates in the U.S. since the mid-1800s.
