Thiel Foundation Accepting Applications for 2013 Class of “20 Under 20″

The Peter Thiel Foundation is accepting applications for the 2013 class of 20 Under 20 Thiel Fellows. The fellowships consist of 20 separate grants of $100,000 to 20 people under 20 years old so they can innovate, in addition to the grant money those selected for the fellowships are mentored by entrepreneurs, scientists, and investors.

Since the first class of Thiel fellows was selected in 2011 more than forty young people have received guidance to develop projects in industries such as nuclear and alternative energy, robotics, biotechnology, 3D printing, synthetic biology, public health, education, finance, scientific equipment, gaming, and software.

Applications are not limited to those with established companies or developed innovations and teams of up to four may apply. More information can be found at TheilFellowship.org, applications for the 2013 class are due by 11:59 P.M. (UTC–12) on Dec. 31, 2012, and applicants must have been born after Dec. 31, 1992 to qualify.
