Welding is the act of melting metals and fusing them together to form a strong, permanent bond to create tough, sturdy objects. This is often used in shipbuilding, automobile manufacturing, aerospace applications, and many other manufacturing and constructing activities. Usually called welders, individuals in this profession must wear proper protective gear since their work usually involves an open electric arc or flame.
There is a high demand for qualified and skilled workers in these three professions. They are paid on an hourly basis, with welders making an average of $15.10 per hour, carpenters earning about $17.57 per hour, and construction workers earning the most, about $20.02 an hour.
