In-district and in-state tuition and required fees have risen an average of 6.5% annually since 2006.

At just under $12,000 the average tuition rate at four-year public universities in Michigan today is the highest in the nation and significantly higher than the $9,139 national average.

College enrollment growth rates in Michigan are lower than average. Nationally, enrollment rates at four-year schools grew by over 30% over a ten year period, rates in Michigan grew at just under 10%.
